Write a call script for supporters

Makes it simple for supporters to call decision-makers with confidence.

Lower risk: public info only — The script is generic; add no personal supporter data.

Please note: This site is only a guide to help people understand. Consult your IT, security and/or privacy department for clarification.

Before you start, gather

Write [ASK] as one specific action, such as supporting a named bill. Take [DECISION-MAKER TITLE] from the official listing. Afterward, add the office number from the official source yourself.

Starter prompt

Write a 30-second phone script for supporters of [ORGANIZATION NAME] to call [DECISION-MAKER TITLE] about [ISSUE]. Include how to introduce themselves, the one clear ask ([ASK]), a sentence for adding their own reason, and what to say if they reach voicemail. Add a short how-to for first-time callers. Do not invent facts about the issue or the decision-maker's record; write MISSING INFO instead of guessing.

Paste the prompt into your AI tool first, then replace the placeholders with your own details. Don't use real names of clients or donors.

Open an AI tool

You are leaving this guide. Copy the prompt first, then open a tool. The link goes to the website of the company named on each link, in a new tab. That company's terms and privacy policy apply there. Paste the prompt in, then replace the placeholders with your own details. Don't enter real names or confidential details.

Check the result

Confirm the office phone number from the official source and make sure the ask is accurate.

What it might get wrong

A made-up phone number or office detail. A claim about how the official voted before. A script that overstates what supporters may say on behalf of the organization.
