Draft an outreach note to a referral partner
Helps you build relationships with agencies that can send clients to you, and the other way around.
Lower risk: public info only — Describe your services in general; don't mention any specific client.
Please note: This site is only a guide to help people understand. Consult your IT, security and/or privacy department for clarification.
Before you start, gather
Copy [SERVICES] and [REFERRAL PROCESS] from your current program description and intake steps. Check [PARTNER ORGANIZATION] on their own published materials. Leave out any individual client.
Starter prompt
Write a short email from [YOUR NAME AND ROLE] at [ORGANIZATION NAME] to [PARTNER ORGANIZATION] suggesting we make it easier to refer people to each other. Briefly explain our services ([SERVICES]), who we can help, how to refer ([REFERRAL PROCESS]), and suggest a 20-minute call. Friendly and respectful of their time. Describe our services only as I list them, and write MISSING INFO instead of guessing at referral steps, capacity or partner details.
Paste the prompt into your AI tool first, then replace the placeholders with your own details. Don't use real names of clients or donors.
