Take [LEGISLATOR TITLE AND NAME] and [BILL OR ISSUE] from the legislature's official listing. Write [POSITION] as your board approved it. Keep [ANONYMIZED EXAMPLE] general, with no client details.

Starter prompt

Write a one-page letter to [LEGISLATOR TITLE AND NAME] from [ORGANIZATION NAME] about [BILL OR ISSUE]. Our position: [POSITION]. Include a short story from the district in general terms ([ANONYMIZED EXAMPLE]), one clear request, and an offer to be a resource. Respectful, professional tone. Leave out bill numbers, vote counts, district statistics and quotes from the legislator unless I supply them; mark gaps MISSING INFO instead of guessing.

Paste the prompt into your AI tool first, then replace the placeholders with your own details. Don't use real names of clients or donors.
